How Rastock AI fills each metadata field, which published agency rules it maps to, and how files are delivered over FTP and SFTP.
The title is a short factual sentence describing the subject. Agencies reject titles that read as keyword lists or that carry camera and lens jargon. The description is longer prose covering subject, setting and context; on editorial submissions this is where the date and location belong. Keywords are ordered by importance rather than alphabetically, because several agencies weight the leading positions most heavily.
Banned and mandatory terms let you set keywords you never want generated, and keywords that must appear on every file, applied across a whole batch.
Agency limits differ and the generator maps to each. Adobe Stock accepts up to 49 keywords per submission, weights the first 10 keyword positions most heavily, expects titles under roughly 70 characters with no gear or technical jargon, counts duplicate keywords as a refusal reason, and requires one language per submission matching your account setting. Trademarks, brand names and personal information are not permitted, and AI work must not reference artists still in copyright.
Other agencies set a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 50 keywords, require the description to be a factual sentence about the subject within a 2,048 character limit in English, require one category with a second optional, and expect editorial captions to carry the day, month, year and location. Trademarks, emojis, spam and personal data are refused, and spelling or grammar errors are themselves a refusal reason.
To connect an agency over FTP you need your contributor username, your FTP password - which on most agencies is separate from your website password - and the protocol and port if the agency uses something other than the default.
How Rastock AI works, from the first file you add to metadata landing at a stock agency.
Rastock is built around one loop. You put files in, review what the AI wrote, and send them out. Nothing is submitted on your behalf until you say so.
For each image Rastock produces a title, a description and a ranked keyword list, then writes them into the file as IPTC and XMP so the metadata travels with the asset rather than living in a separate sheet.
Banned and mandatory terms.
Agencies disagree on limits and on what counts as acceptable metadata. These are the published rules at the two largest, current as of mid-2026. Treat the agency’s own contributor documentation as authoritative if it ever disagrees with this page.

Delivery uses FTP and SFTP, which are open standards. That means there is no private integration to wait for: 10+ agencies ship with their metadata rules already mapped, and beyond those, any agency that accepts contributor uploads over FTP or SFTP can be added yourself.
What you need from the agency
Every agency that supports FTP publishes these in its contributor area, usually under upload or submission settings:
Your FTP password, which on most agencies is separate from your website password
The protocol and port, if the agency uses something other than the default
The Chrome extension generates metadata directly inside a contributor portal, for the cases where you are already in the agency’s own upload screen rather than in the dashboard.
Adobe Stock contributor portal
Magnific contributor portal (formerly Freepik)
It has no permission to read your general browsing. It only activates on the three contributor portals listed here.
Metadata is written into the file as IPTC and XMP and can also be exported as CSV. If you stop using Rastock, the work you generated leaves with the files.
Rastock currently ships one module: stock contributor. Two more are planned, and neither is available today. We list them here rather than on the marketing pages so nobody subscribes expecting something that does not exist yet.
Planned to arrive through the browser extension first.
Planned through the extension, with dashboard support afterwards.
Current engineering effort is on completing stock agency coverage before either module starts. No dates are promised because we do not have reliable ones.
Short answers to the questions we get most often.
Ask other contributors, or us, in the open.
For account, billing and delivery problems.
Upload images to the stock contributor module, one at a time or as a bulk batch. Files stay grouped in the folder you put them in, which is also the unit you act on later.
Generate, or Generate All
Select a single file and generate metadata for it, or run Generate All across the folder. Each image is analysed on its own, so a batch does not inherit one description across fifty frames.
Every title, description and keyword list is editable before it goes anywhere. Generated metadata is a first draft: accurate on subject and setting, weaker on the conceptual terms buyers actually search.
Send the approved files to any stock platform you have connected. Delivery runs from our servers as a background job, so you can close the tab.
